I get tired waiting and watching my ice-cream melt as the customers in front rumble with their phones because they cannot even remember what pay app they want to use and the register person is afraid to touch their Smart Scream!

Indeed. Back in the UK my bank card comes ready for contactless payment. Here in Japan it's all done through different companies and apps and is all too confusing.
