In the US it's Bridgestone-Firestone and the tires are manufactured globally.

I'm aware of that. The old Firestone plant on Firestone Bl south of Los Angeles is now owned by Hon office furniture. They manufacture their high quality file cabinets and other office furniture there.
Bridgestone-Firestone is not considered a premium tire and especially after the failures of OEM Firestone tires on Ford Explorers. For a long time when you bought a new Japanese motorcycle you immediately tossed the OEM "Stones" they shipped them with for better rubber. I had a set of Bridgestone manufactured Lazer branded tires on one of my cars for time and they were markedly inferior to the Nokians I had previously (Nokian no longer sells a tire in the size my car needs, sigh). No stick even though they were sold as sporting rubber. Now the car has Nitto Neo-Gen tires, see how they do.

BRAVO.

Few Americans know that Bridgestone is actually a Japanese company, and the name is simply a translated reversal of the founder's name Ishibashi 石橋 "stone bridge".

Bridgestone owns Firestone.
Back in the 1980s Firestone was on the verge of collapse, so they got bought out.
"Bridgestone-Firestone" is not a partnership, Firestone is a subsidiary.
