Step into Gothic world of sweet delights at Conrad Tokyo's Halloween afternoon tea

The Conrad Tokyo is offering the new Halloween afternoon tea, "Sophisticated Halloween Afternoon Tea - Alluring Glorious Mansion" at its bar and lounge, TwentyEight, on the 28th floor of the hotel at Shiodome.

The main color scheme is red & black. Guests can enjoy the beautiful and mysterious world in calm colors with elegant Gothic interior of the mansion with a panoramic view of Tokyo.

With the exquisite balance of the rich chocolate ganache and the fig comfiture that provides a touch of sour taste, a bitter chocolate cupcake is decorated with a mask for a masquerade that would be hosted by the lord of the mansion. A coffin-themed chocolate tart with Japanese chestnuts from Aso, Kumamoto provides pleasant aroma of a baked chocolate tart with chestnut paste, topped with a rich, round Japanese-style candied chestnut. The coffin lid is made of chocolate decorated with the elegant and luxurious damask patterns.

With eye-catching vivid red, a violet & berries mousse gives the gentle scent of violet through the nose and the taste of berries in the mouth. On top of the mousse is a key made of chocolate to open the door to the glorious mansion. In the glass is Halloween verrine. Blackberry jelly, vanilla panna cotta, and clear chestnut honey jelly in layers are topped with pomegranate. Served with raspberry sauce in a dropper, guests can enjoy a different taste.

Inspired by the gorgeous mansion, a raspberry cream puff has leopard print chocolate decorated with gold dragée and raspberry. Savory dishes feature seasonal ingredients as well. A yuzu citrus and foie gras sandwich is highlighted by the marble pattern created with beets and bamboo charcoal. It provides the fine balance of the rich taste of foie gras and fresh flavor of yuzu citrus jam. A duck confit & purple yum tart is characterized by the appetizing contrast of sweet and savory. A creamy shellfish & cauliflower mousse with rich flavors of shellfish and broth, accented with the unique texture of red consommé and black balsamic pearls, goes perfectly well with sweet dishes.
