Exactly, but it's a consumer society right? I mean, where would be if everyone knew you could keep asparagus for up to two weeks in your fridge by keeping it tightly wrapped, trim the ends, put it in a glass with in inch of water (needs changing), and put a lose plastic bag over it?

I always find separating each item into it's own bin is just a waste of space. If you have a space 20cmX20cm and put 2 bins in it, each of hose bins have about two, 1cm edges. You lost 4cms..... and that's if you were lucky enough to find 2 bins that are EXACTLY the right size for the space.
Why are we, as a society, obsessed with keeping everything separate and in its' own little box?
