Champagne Shabu Shabu and Premium Winter Comfort Food

Warm up with a lavish shabu shabu made on the teppan grill featuring thinly sliced Keyakizaka beef sirloin, an original brand of beef by Keyakizaka, and seasonal vegetables dipped in boiling Champagne. Upgrade to a Dom Perignon shabu shabu plan with an option to add a risotto at the end of the meal, made with the remainder of the Champagne, cheese and fragrant truffles.

At The Oak Door, try a hearty slow-braised game stew to share, highlighting wild boar from Hyogo prefecture, along with garlic, potatoes, carrots, onions and herbs all cooked together in a rich red wine sauce.

Savor roast beef to your heart’s content at The French Kitchen, where diners can enjoy an unlimited amount of juicy slow-roasted Australian beef and vegetables, along with three different types of sauces including red wine sauce, horseradish cream and béarnaise sauce.

Winter Cocktails and Infused Syphon Tea

The Oak Door will offer a unique syphon tea infused with a blend of herbs, spices, tea leaves and fruit. The bottom chamber of the syphon is filled with water, which is then pushed into the upper chamber when heated. There, the liquid becomes quickly and richly infused with the ingredients in the upper chamber before going back down to the bottom. When the flavors meld, it creates a highly aromatic tea.

Sip on a variety of hot and cold cocktails at The Oak Door Bar including the sweet Hot Coco Cinnamon made with cinnamon vodka, chocolate liqueur and topped with marshmallows, whipped cream and chocolate syrup, or try our Caribbean take on an Irish Coffee made with Caribbean spiced rum, coffee, coffee liqueur, Sambuca, brown sugar and whipped cream.

During the first two weeks of February, the hotel’s main bar, Maduro, will introduce a rich chocolate cocktail to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a dark chocolate mocha cocktail made with premium rum, Valrhona chocolate and espresso, topped with coffee beans. Guests of the cozy Maduro bar can indulge their palates with these delectable flavors while enjoying the rhythms of smooth jazz.

Valentine’s Day and White Day

At Fiorentina Pastry Boutique, an assortment of delightful chocolates and sweets will be available to charm loved ones on Valentine’s Day. The creations will include chocolate-covered strawberries, award-winning bon bon chocolates and two different kinds of long baton chocolates made with naturally pink ruby chocolate and sweet chocolate that allow guests to include a personalized message. Ruby chocolate, which was recently introduced in Japan, is what experts describe as the “fourth type” of chocolate (after dark, milk and white), and we’re sure the intense fruity flavor along with its unique ruby color will leave an impression this Valentine’s Day.

For White Day, a day observed in Japan when men are expected to return the favor by giving gifts (only women give gifts on Valentine’s Day), the pastry boutique will offer a selection of sweets made with white chocolate and ruby chocolate, and playful sugar cookies made in the shape of dresses, shoes and bags for that special lady in your life.

Not a huge chocolate fan? Then treat that special someone to a romantic dinner at The Oak Door during Valentine’s week as the chefs prepare a decadent four-course dinner that features savory strawberries in each dish, including grilled scallops with strawberry sauce, foie gras with homemade strawberry jam, a succulent beef tenderloin complemented by strawberry sauce and finished with a dessert. The dinner will also include a surprise post-dinner cocktail, and diners can express their love with a customized letter and a box of chocolates for their significant other.

Seasonal Strawberry Delights

The award-winning pastry chefs at Fiorentina Pastry Boutique will craft a selection of new seasonal strawberry desserts including a tasting set of three different types of strawberries dipped in chocolate, a premium strawberry shortcake made with fresh whipped cream from Jersey cow’s milk, known for its exceptional quality, strawberry tarts made with pistachio cream and flaky strawberry croissants filled with chocolate.

In January, when strawberries in Japan are at their best, head to The French Kitchen for a strawberry afternoon tea and enjoy an endless selection of sweets from the lavish dessert buffet as well as an assortment of savory items. The buffet will feature strawberry shortcakes, tiramisu, macarons, eclairs and fresh Amaou strawberries from Fukuoka prefecture that can be dipped in a unique pink ruby chocolate fountain. Enjoy with a choice of one premium organic tea from Los Angeles-based ART OF TEA or with fresh coffee.

Sakura Sweets and Breads
