Burger King Japan unleashes King Yeti the One Pounder and all of its cheesy goodnes

Only three weeks after delivering the Cheeseburger Gelände in January, Burger King Japan released its second monster cheeseburger creation of the year on February 17 – King Yeti the One Pounder. True to its name, the burger tips the scale at 507 grams and packs a staggering 1,495 calories.

▼ Depending on your typical calorie intake, that might mean you don’t have to eat again for the rest of the day. What a great time-saver.

n terms of composition, King Yeti the One Pounder features four of Burger King’s signature flame-broiled beef patties stacked in a toasted sesame bun along with six slices of Gouda cheese, a white sauce made from a combination of Parmesan and camembert cheeses, and freshly sliced onions and pickles for some flavorful accents on top.

▼ Is it called “Yeti” because up until now the mere thought of such a delicious burger was too mythically divine, or because this is what Yetis eat every day?

Thankfully, you can order your burger to be cut in half so that it’s easier to pick up (not that that’s ever deterred us from a gastronomic challenge before).

Those who order the burger during its limited-time run will also receive a special sticker to commemorate their achievement (while supplies last).

King Yeti the One Pounder is now on sale at Burger Kings throughout Japan for 2,190 yen by itself or 2,490 yen as part of a set meal with French fries and a drink (both medium size).

I, for one, am anxious to see how the cheeseburger tastes in real life.

This is betting as bad as Hollywood remakes as fast-food joints run a campaign for a new burger than not many will eat, but it gets in the news cycle. I'm curious of the cost performance of said campaign?

Burger King makes the best burgers but this is not one of them.

It looks like a heart attack in a bun.

Just what the locals need: more american cultural imperialism in the form of heart disease between two buns.

I like burgers and usually stop to get one after returning from overseas ... directly from the airport on the drive home, but I can't imagine eating 4 patties worth.

Even when super hungry, 2 patties is sufficiently filling with a side of onion rings.

Gotta say, BK isn't my go-to place, but better than many alternatives, even many of the "gourmet'" options. The BK buns seem to have much higher levels of carbs than the other alternatives too.

I'm going to eat two of these today! I am fat and getting much fatter by the day, but I don't care. The calories do not scare me. I may get much fatter than I am now, but this burger looks so delicious. I love the melted cheese too. I am slobbering all over myself just thinking about it.

Just loving the H@LL out of it.

The only thing stopping me from rushing into Burger King.

Preaching to the choir.

BK rocks! My favorite Burger joint bar none. Just wish it was in the McD's price range. Then I would live there.

Michael- if weight is an issue, I would recommend a little bit of weight training. Will even give you a bigger appetite.

Does that come with a heart attack and a side dish of coronary bypass?

Doesn’t really feel like a hamburger when it’s so big you have to take it apart and eat it in pieces with a fork and knife.
