Domino’s Pizza Japan had teamed up with blue haired pop star Hatsune Miku to produce a line of Miku-themed delivery bikes, or “itabaiku.“

Taking to the streets of Tokyo all through the campaign, these brightly-colored three wheelers will be used to deliver piping hot pies to all of Domino’s customers.

Itabaiku – coming from the combination of "itai" (painful) and "baiku" (bike) — is a subgenre of "itasha," cars decorated with anime or video game character designs to the point that they’re painful for anyone other than diehard fans to look at

That video is hilarious. Scott is a real trooper enthusiastically selling the promotion. Only thing missing is a special Miku themed Pizza, although I think people may not buy into green anything on their pizza besides peppers.

I want those Miku pizza boxes and Domino Miku delivery bikes. Those looks great. :)

Are they bicycle-bikes or motor-bikes? I do hope it's the latter. I have been seeing more delivery companies using bicycles with carts attached to the back - so much more environmentally- friendly and cost-conscious.

Then, don't you hope it is the former, not the latter?

The Miku campaign was TOO successful. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-12/domino-hatsune-miku-pizza-boxes-sells-out

Domino's Pizza started a nationwide collaboration campaign called "Domino's Feat. Hatsune Miku" last Thursday. It began selling medium and large pizzas in Hatsune Miku Special Boxes decorated with artwork and delivering them on a Miku-decorated Domino autobike. The event was expected to last until May, but the pizza company ran out of boxes much earlier than expected.

According to Domino's official Twitter account, the limited edition boxes are temporarily out of stock, and it announced that it is increasing production, and more of the prized pizza boxes will be available by the end of March. However, the company also warned in advance that due to the limited quantity, the campaign will end as soon as the boxes run out.
