They don't have premises but charge cafe/restaurant prices. They are self service and its up to you to find a place to sit and a toilet. They also generate the same or more trash as fast food.

As the article suggests, they may be good as a novelty, but there's not a lot left when that wears off. We've got three kids so our bill is for five. You soon get sick of five times 700 yen for hot dogs, even fancy ones.

I love street food on the hop . It works for me and I have the choice , buy or pass on by .

The main problem with doing the lunch truck business in Tokyo is the pesky police constantly popping up to harrass them.
