Haagen-Dazs Matcha Salon green tea ice cream specialists opening in Tokyo for limited time

Haagen-Dazs ice cream is a household name in Japan, offering a host of seasonal and limited time only flavors, all in convenient one person cups that can be picked up at any supermarket or convenience store. Although it's a non-Japanese company, they have plenty of special Japan only variations, many of which are inspired by traditional Japanese sweets and flavors.

In celebration of 35 years in Japan, Haagen-Dazs have announced a pop-up cafe called Haagen-Dazs Matcha Salon, in the upmarket Roppongi Hills shopping complex of Tokyo.

The very first product that Haagen Dazs produced just for the Japanese market, was the green tea ice cream in 1996. This flavor is still available today, and is so loved that it even ranks in the top three popular flavors on a regular basis.

The Haagen-Dazs Matcha Salon will be a testament to this rich, distinctly Japanese flavor. The special menu of six courses will offer the chance to enjoy not just the taste of green tea, but purports to satisfy all five senses with matcha goodness.

Exactly what those courses will entail is yet to be revealed, but it has been announced that the cafe will only be around from April 24 to May 5.
