If what you love about Japan is Hello KittyHarajuku fashion, and everything cute, then you’re in luck; quite possibly the cutest and most colorful collaboration is coming to Japan this summer, when Harajuku’s famous Kawaii Monster Cafe teams up with Japan’s beloved cat girl character to celebrate the love of all things adorable.

If you haven’t heard about the Kawaii Monster Cafe, it’s a super colorful, quirky, and zany restaurant in Tokyo that’s gained more and more popularity over the years. This year it’s celebrating its four-year anniversary, while Hello Kitty is turning 45, and to commemorate the success of both franchises, they’re offering a special collaboration called Harajuku x Kawaii x Hello Kitty.

The collaboration will bring Hello Kitty to the Kawaii Monster Cafe in various bright and colorful ways. For starters, the cafe will open a special Hello Kitty room in the Mel-Tea Room, one of the most popular sections of the cafe, which will be temporarily re-designed into a Hello Kitty fan’s dream come true. It will be outfitted in all pastels, with colorful food and plenty of Hello Kitty accouterments decorating the walls.

Tables in the Mel-Tea Hello Kitty Room will be available by reservation only, and visitors will have to limit their visit to two hours, but that’s enough time to die and go to pastel-colored heaven, right? If you’ve just got to have lunch in this Hello Kitty Paradise, make sure you specifically mention that you want the Mel-Tea Hello Kitty Room when you make the reservation to get a true Kawaii Monster Hello Kitty experience.

But that’s not all! As part of the celebration, the Kawaii Monster Cafe will also be offering a special menu made up of eight colorful new Hello Kitty-themed dishes, including a Hello Kitty Burger with a Rainbow Cheese Sauce, as well as a Hello Kitty Harajuku Rainbow Curry.

What’s more, when you order something off of the Hello Kitty menu, you’ll also be gifted a special limited edition coaster featuring Hello Kitty in Kawaii Monster Cafe fashion, the Cafe’s mascot Mr Choppy, or both.

But don’t worry; if it gets crazy busy and you can’t get a reservation in, there will also be plenty of limited-edition goods to buy, so you can still get your Kawaii Monster Hello Kitty fix. There are plans to gradually release various special Hello Kitty merchandise throughout the summer that will be sold exclusively at the Cafe, starting with 17 different kinds of products like cookies, mugs, and keychains.

So if you’re a fan of all things cute and colorful, you will definitely not want to miss this collaboration between the zany Kawaii Monster Cafe and the classically cute Hello Kitty! The Mel-Tea Hello Kitty Room, the special menu, and the limited edition goods will all be available starting on July 12, and will continue to be available until Sept 1.
