Honolulu’s The Pig & The Lady first opened in downtown Chinatown in 2013, and quickly took off, winning multiple awards since, including the Best Oahu Restaurant at the Hale Aina Awards, two years in a row, as well as Restaurateur of the Year in 2017.
What began as a local pop-up with a memorable name, The Pig & The Lady, the pig being the chef/executive owner, Andrew Le, and the lady, his mother who inspired his flavors, now takes a grand leap with their first overseas restaurant opening doors in Tokyo.
Chef Andrew Le, who served as a sous chef at Hawaii's Michelin star French restaurant, Chef Marvo, offers a slightly adjusted menu at the new store in south Ebisu which incorporates an international essence into his personal take of his mother’s home-cooked Vietnamese cuisine.
The restaurant’s specialty menu, “Le Fried Chicken” is made with crisp and juicy chicken wings and finished off with a refreshingly tangy sauce.
Other menu items include a “Vietnamese Pizza” made with crispy baked rice paper topped with cheese, Chinese sausage and jalapenos, as well as a rich “Pho 75” with Vietnamese style beef, and a “French Dip Banh Mi” packed full with juicy BBQ beef, coriander and onions with pho soup on the side to use as a dipping sauce.
Prices range from ¥600 to ¥1,500 for lunch and ¥600 to ¥2,800 for dinner. A drink menu is available with mocktails, cocktail, beer, wine, and sake, alongside other nonalcoholic drinks. The menu also features a ¥2,500 lunch course for five dishes and a nonalcoholic drink, and a ¥4,000 dinner course for six dishes and a nonalcoholic drink.

Gotta love the non-Japanese business hours. None of that "we close at 2 p.m" malarkey.

It's in Downtown Chinatown in Honolulu, not Waikiki, which is miles away.
Moderator: Thank you for pointing that out. The story has been corrected.

I've been to the Honolulu restaurant a few times. It is good, don't get me wrong. But, keep in mind, it is Honolulu. For Honolulu, it stands out.
For Tokyo??
Well, we shall see. Ebisu is probably a decent location.
But, these sort of restaurants are in abundance in Tokyo.
Just saying.....

Done well, Vietnamese food is cheap and very good to start with. The pho in the photo actually looks pretty standard, so I wouldn't want to pay big for it.
Are there many VIetnamese in Hawaii? There are in Vancouver and the VIetnamese food there was pretty good.
