Japan’s first lamb bistro to open in Tokyo’s Harajuku area

A new lamb restaurant will open in Tokyo’s Harajuku district on July 28 at 5 p.m. Bistro Prime Lamb, the first restaurant of its kind, will serve up a rich dinner course of 10 kinds of lamb meat and more than 10 varieties of fresh vegetables.

Items include fillet lamb tartar; lamb bone soup, thigh meat carpaccio; rib jerky; grilled lamb tongue salad; sweetbread; thymus and other lamb-based pies; grilled lamb chops served “rose pink” to bring out the umami and flavor unique to lamb; homemade focaccia and sheep cheese whipped cream; spaghetti with shavings of aged shoulder loin; and roast lamb.

In collaboration with Top Cuts Foods, a renowned meat company in Australia, Bistro Prime Lamb’s presentation utilizes every part of lamb meat, combining the best cooking methods, using aged and fermented meat. All dishes come with seasonal organic vegetables delivered from Shibakai Nouen farm located in Inzai, Chiba Prefecture. With a touch of sauce to enhance the flavor, they make a perfect combination with lamb.

For drinks, try the “Prime cocktail” using craft gin and whiskey brewed in the Australian state of Tasmania which is said to have the cleanest air and water in the world. In addition, there are various wines which go perfectly with lamb.

The restaurant has some booths for a private and tranquil atmosphere to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle in Harajuku where embassies and snazzy clothes shops are located.

Bistro Prime Lamb is managed by Operation Factory Inc, which runs the popular lamb yakiniku restaurant lamb ne in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

We like lamb but in our location sources have dried up and now use The Meat Guy. Chops, shank, and sausage. We also like goats, especially curry. Otherwise, mutton makes a good curry.

I've witnessed Halal slaughter and the killing of sheep in a UK slaughterhouse. They both ended up very dead but the sheep died faster with less suffering with the knife.

Sorry do you mean Japan's first lamb bistro or first one in Harajuku?

Tokyo has many Lamb bistros.. Hitsujiya has several outlets and there a great lamb place near the south exit of Shinjuku station. But good to see a new place serving my favorite meat. I'll be checking it out soon.
