After Japan’s first Pokemon Cafe opened up in Tokyo last year, next to the metropolis’ second Pokemon Center megastore, everyone who lives anywhere else but Tokyo cried a little, because the cute cafe and its Pokemon-themed food and special menus was, up until now, only available in the Kanto area.
But not anymore. Osaka is now getting its own branch, so Kansai-based Pokemon fans can rejoice. The new Pokemon Cafe, which will be coupled with a new Pokemon Center DX megastore, will be in Shinsaibashi, one of the biggest shopping areas in Osaka.
Though the Kansai metropolis already has a Pokemon Center adjacent to Osaka Station, it is not a megastore, so the new Pokemon Center DX will be bringing a different Pokemon experience to the area. Plus, these new stores are said to be on a different scale from the others; for one, visitors will be greeted by three giant statues of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, the legendary bird Pokemon of the original games. The statues are apparently life-size and measure up to two meters in height, so they’re going to be a truly impressive sight.
So far, there isn’t a whole lot of information available about the new cafe or the new Pokémon Center yet, but we do know that they’ll be open and ready for business on Sept 20, and both will be on the ninth floor of the Daimaru Shinsaibashi shopping center. So, if you live in Osaka, start saving up, because you’re gonna want to go shopping as soon as it’s open! We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
