Japan’s drinkable ice cream Lotte Coolish brings back after two years one of their most popular flavors, the Melon Soda(float), in a new retro and trendy package design.

The new flavor is now available nationwide for around 151 yen (tax included).

I remember first trying their Melon Soda Float ice cream back in 2019, and up to this day, I remember its delicious and refreshing flavor. My first thought was: “Wow, this truly makes you think of Japan!”

In my country, I don’t remember seeing beverages like melon soda, so when I first got to Japan, I found it so interesting.

I also gave it a try, although I am not a big fan of soda, and to my surprise, I liked it. It felt like summer in one beverage, and ever since, I am sometimes craving for it around this time of the year.

When I first saw the Coolish version of the melon soda around two years ago, I was excited because I love ice cream, and Coolish is one of my favorites.

Compared to the usual melon soda drinks (at least from what I’ve had until now), the Coolish one has a more subtle, well-balanced taste. Thanks to mixing the melon soda with the “float” flavor, it has a creamier texture, and I feel that it reminds you more of a smoothie instead.

I’d recommend it even to those who are not particularly fond of sweet flavors or soda because it is not that sweet, and it tastes delicious and refreshing, making it perfect for summer.

The new package also has bright and vibrant colors, with lime green, an illustration of a melon soda float, and feels very retro.

Due to its dazzling design, it can easily be spotted, even in the multitude of ice creams in the supermarkets’ and convenience stores’ refrigerators.
