Anmitsu is a traditional summertime Japanese dessert made from anko red bean paste and agar jelly. It's typically served with slices of fruit and a drizzle of mitsu, a black honey similar to molasses.
Traditional Japanese sweets maker Kamakura Goro is releasing a new twist on the classic dessert, one that reminds us of the transparent raindrop sakura mochi cake.
The sui anmitsu (Water Anmitsu) uses the acclaimed water from the base of Mt Fuji, and serves up the traditional treat in a clear jelly form. Each Water Anmitsu comes packaged with red bean paste and a serving of black honey mitsu.
