The Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo, will be welcoming Chef Marco Stabile, owner of Ora d'Aria, for a special collaboration at its Italian restaurant, Piacere, from July 30-Aug 5.

The Michelin star restaurant Ora d’Aria which open in 2005 in Florence has become one of the world’s most talked about, earning more than 80 points in Italian food guide Gambero Rosso. Stabile will join in-house head chef Paolo Pelosi for “Modern Tuscan Cuisine – Collaboration with Chef Marco Stabile” (six-course dinner 15,000 yen, seven-course dinner 20,000 yen and four-course lunch 5,700 yen).

On Aug 3, the two chefs will create a special eight-course gala dinner with Tuscan wine (25,000 yen per person plus 13% service charge). On Aug 4-5, brunch will include a special offer of free-flowing Franciacorta Ca’ del Bosco Cuvée Prestige Spumante for an additional 4,500 yen per person.

Chef Marco is Florence’s most celebrated chef. He has a wealth of experience at Italian fine dining restaurants, such as Colle di Val d'Elsa’s Michelin two-star Ristorante Arnolfo in Siena. With an obsession for the superior quality of ingredients from his home town, his restaurant Ora d’Aria was recognized by Gambero Rosso immediately, and received its first Michelin star in 2011 as one of the only three restaurants with Michelin star in Florence.

“Tokyo is the world’s greatest gourmet metropolis,” said Chef Marco. “Tokyo’s diners have a fine sense of taste, and by combining traditional and modern Tuscan cuisine, I think they’ll find a taste to savor. I’m looking forward to this opportunity to work together with Paolo.”

Reservations for Modern Tuscan Cuisine – Collaboration with Chef Marco Stabile can be made online at www.shangri-la.jp or via Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo’s reservation line on (81 3) 6739 7878.
