Korakuen is one of Japan's biggest and most popular ramen chains, and has been a bit busy diverting from their usual menu in the past year with chocolate Valentine's Day ramen, ramen-flavored fried chicken, and even ramen delivery robots.
So it was only a matter of time before they decided to put their creative spotlight on ramen's best buddy food pairing--gyoza dumplings. This time they'll be combining gyoza, tacos, okonomiyaki, and hot dogs with their two new Gyoza Dogs: Gyoza Taco Dogs and Gyoza Okonomiyaki Dogs.
The new fusion of foods in hot dog form are being made available for drive-through and takeout from four of Korakuen's stores in Fukushima and Gunma prefecture.
Gyoza Taco Dog
The "taco" flavor serves up gyoza nestled in a hot dog bun topped with a spicy sauce with chopped tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and jalapeños and a rich cheese sauce.
Gyoza Okonomiyaki Dog
The okonomiyaki-style dog again serves up gyoza in a hot dog bun, but topped with mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce, salad greens, and red ginger slices.
Each gyoza dog is priced at 380 yen and available at the following participating Korakuen stores in Japan.

I remember first cringing at the yakisoba "dog", so you never know, it might catch on.

Where are the strawberries, double cream, cucumber, nuts and shrimps? The look rather incomplete.

Seaweed is beneficial and part of quite a few Japanese (amongst other nations) dishes.

It looks like it's worth a try, maybe just once.

Take my money now!
Variety is the spice of life. Sometimes lettuce, sometimes sauerkraut, sometimes grapes...

Who puts lettuce on a hot dog?
