The event will launch on Sept 11 and will include a total of 10n evenings until Oct 23, all held in the spacious outdoor Chapel Garden located on the 4th floor.

2,000 yen for the menu and 4,000 yen for the fake nostalgia. Extra for more 'food'. Enjoy.

@warispeace,

Nostalgia for nostalgia!

Darn right! I am a derivatives kind of guy. I loved those early days Tokyo establishments that tried to capture nostalgia... and did so when there really weren't a lot of options out there.

Still miss the ole' Johnny Rockets...and Hamburger Inn!!

Budweiser and hot dogs for just 6,000yen?! OMG! I'm there!

@descendent

You forgot to mention the "classic American snacks" shown in the photo — corn chips (referred to as "nachos" here) and popcorn.

With only 120 seats available, this could fill up fast.

Does any other readers remember the Rock 'n Roll Diner in Shimo Kitazawa back in the '90s?! Now there was a quality venue that tried for this.... and didn't do a bad job. And a pretty cool neighbourhood to boot.

Ahhh, yes....

Nothing like paying for "nostalgia"... which would be fine if the setting actually took you back to that era and evoked the imagery, the sounds and the all important "fuinki". Because the food certainly isn't worth Yen 6,000/

Nice try, Grand Hyatt, but this is something that is more up Hard Rock's or TGI Friday's alley.

Now if they can find Kirin beer that comes out of cherry-wood kegs, then right on ... Too bad aluminum replaced those wooden kegs. Beer hasn't tasted the same since then ... by saying "the same" I mean really, really tasty ... And bring on those 1960s and 1970s prices ... and have a blast ...

Budweiser is not beer.

Sorry to say that those plastic Heinz's bottles in the photo are anachronistic. Heinz ketchup was served in restaurants in restaurant table-sized glass bottles that you had to invert and whack multiple times on the bottom to get any ketchup out. Too bad that it's probably impossible to find any like those anymore.

Classic American snacks made with today's highly processed food methods at Tokyo prices. Got to love globalization.
