Rice bowl chain offers towering meaty bowl for singles spending Christmas alone

As festive decorations and illuminations brighten the streets, it's clear that Christmas is approaching. However, in recent years, a new term kuri-bocchi クリぼっち short for kurisumasu de hitori-bocchi クリスマスで一人ぼっち or "being alone on Christmas" has appeared to describe those who, whether by choice or by circumstance, are spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day by themselves. This year, as the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus continues to increase, even more people will probably be avoiding crowds and spending the holiday alone.

Antworks Co Ltd, which operates the popular sutadon (a rice bowl featuring pork marinated in garlic soy sauce to give you "stamina") restaurant chains Densetsu no Suta-don ("the legendary Sutadon") and Meibutsu no Suta-don ("the famous Sutadon"), is doing their part to make kuri-bocchi a bit more bearable, by adding a special item on their menu at all their stores nationwide from December 8th to 25th.

Introducing 『極楽 肉ニクにくツリーすた丼』 Gokuraku niku-niku-niku Tree Sutadon

『極楽 肉ニクにくツリーすた丼』can be loosely translated as "blissfully meat-meat-meaty Christmas Tree stamina rice bowl." As you may have guessed by now, it's a towering rice bowl featuring three kinds of meat, and vaguely shaped like a Christmas Tree. According to the press release, "even if you're alone, at least you can fill your tummy with delicious food and enjoy your kuri-bocchi to the fullest."

You'll get a triple serving of rice, a double serving of succulent Sutadon pork, a generous amount of cheese which you can top your bowl like snow, four of their famously large "Sutamina Karaage" fried chicken pieces, and two deep-fried breaded burger patties. Finally, it comes with the "Christmas color combination" of kimchi (red) and green onions (green), along with a star-shaped carrot which you can add as a decoration. The whole set has a total meat weight of about 660 grams and a total weight of 1.5 kg.

You can order it in-store or have it for takeout or delivery as well, in which case you'll get a kit for you to arrange it as you wish and make your very own Christmas Tree Sutadon rice bowl.

In some parts of Africa that is a family feast for four. In Germany a meaty romantic dinner for two and in Japan a lonely dinner for one...sumo wrestler on a diet.

Don't need stamina if you're going to be alone but at least you can use the bowl to hold your tears.

I've had steaks half that amount and felt stuffed afterwards. No one except a sumo dude should need that amount in one meal.
