Say cheese – with Lotteria’s new burgers

Japanese fast food chain Lotteria will release some new types of cheese hamburgers from March 22 – Cheese & Cheese Burger and Cheese & Cheese Double Burger.

The Cheese & Cheese Burger will be priced at 240 yen and 570 yen for the combo meal with M size fries. The hamburger contains a processed cheese under a patty of ground meat and a creamy red cheddar cheese sauce above it.

The Cheese & Cheese Double Burger will be priced at 320 yen and 650 yen for the combo meal with M size fries. This hamburger contains an additional patty of ground meat and is much more substantial than the Cheese & Cheese Burger.

@netninja

I'm not hating on American hamburgers. They are part of the reason I weight 278 pounds! Like I said, please don't follow in my footsteps . . . Exception: In & Out burgers are great any time and any place.

However, life expectancy is going down as waist lines are going up in Japan.

You have to admit that the burger in that picture looks really nasty. Desho?

I've been spoiled by Gouda cheese, I can't eat this kind of processed cheese anymore.

NetNinja,,,I am going to go to the Motomachi place. That looks great. I want to see if it is better than my own cooking. Thanks for the link.

Net, are you suggesting that moi is 'faint of heart'? (If by that you mean 'discerning of palate', I'll let you off). It sounds like you're saying the place is good because 'famous' people go there (I'd only heard of two of the people you mention, and I thought one of them was long dead) - the pictures of the food still look yukky, and the descriptions sound pretty nasty. Each to his own, I suppose.

@cleo I understand. These places aren't for the faint of heart. The first one I listed "Original Tommys" is a joint that most college students go to after USC or UCLA footballs games. It is so down to Earth but so dayum delicious that celebrities don't avoid crowds to get one.

I was there one night when Arsenio Hall just rolled up and bought a couple. Some people said "Hi" but most people just let celebs chill. It would suck not to be able to get a Tommy's Burger. All the big names have been there, Jay Leno, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Nolte, Sandra Bullock. Seriously, you can see anybody down at Tommy's. It's open 24 hours.

Truth be told. It's one of the mustiest Chili burgers on Earth. It is truly fragrant with all those fresh cut onions mixed in. You know what, it's so delicious you'll go back for another one if you have space.

Here's the kicker!! They're aren't using cheap ingredients. They're using the absolute best. Everybody in California knows this. The prices are fair too. In Japan you might spend about 1,600yen on a Quality burger. In Cali, 4 of my friends could get a burger for that. We'd scrap up enough dollars and change and walk away from the Shack with a brown box of hot goodness. I'm talking Friday and Saturday night in California with good friends and awesome burgers.

Japan has a long way to go. McDonalds here just is just insulting with those god awful campaign burgers. Shame on them.

So...processed cheese with processed meat and more processed cheese. When condiments and processed cheese account for the majority of a burger, I'm going to have to decline.

WARNING - if you click on these links you will get hungry. You cannot hold me responsible for the pain your stomach

I was foolish enough to click on the links and the pictures of fried junk with gooey sauces made me feel nauseous. (More so than the pic of the Lotteria burger.) I don't think I'll feel hungry for a while now.

The blueprint for a Chili Burger is in Los Angeles - Tommys http://www.originaltommys.com/ The blueprint for a classic American Double Cheeseburger is here! - In-and-Out http://www.innout.com/ The best you are ever going to get in Japan is here! - TBC Diner http://www.americanhouse.co.jp/restaurants/tbc-diner.html

Oh geeezzzz! Now I'll be dreaming of burgers all day and night! LOL!!

@Del lhle

Pay no attention to this guy hating on the American hamburger. He would deny you the best things in life.. Most Americans and tourists can't drive past an In-and-Out Burger. It's too dam good. The idea of whether or not a hamburger is healthy is VERY DEBATABLE.

I wouldn't give my seal of approval on ANY Japanese burger made by a Japanese franchise. They don't know what they are doing and they're in it for the money. Don't get me wrong!! There are some establishments that are getting closer and closer to the blueprint but still off target.

Cruise on down to Yokosuka and you'll find a boat load of hamburger joints that have perfected the look BUT not the taste. Sometimes too dry or too thick, sometimes no flavor at all. Some Japanese establishments are even trying their hand at the Chili Burger and they don't understand that a Chili Burger is a different beast altogether.

TBC Diner IS the best in Japan. I don't know who's working the grill. I thought it was this one chick in there and I was going to ask her to marry me but I found out that she didn't actually cook my burger. Someone on the 2nd floor.

Kuaina is good but it's a bit brickish. TBC Diner then Kuaina, then back again to TBC Diner for the real thing.

Japan has delicious and healthy food, Don't be tempted by burgers and fries!

Absolutely right, now I'll go for a tokumori katsudon and a huge bowl of greasy tonkotsu ramen.

Unhealthy fast food is going to turn Japan into another land of fat asses like here in America. Already the nation's longevity is decreasing . . . Please don't follow in our footsteps!!! Japan has delicious and healthy food, Don't be tempted by burgers and fries!

I'm the man you come talk to when you want a good burger. This is NOT it.

That's the ugliest hamburger I've ever seen in my life. Is that a butt bun?

Look at the top bun. It's shaped like buttocks. Are you about to eat $%^*? Yes, you are.

You want to see a good burger? Check out this BURGER. This is HOT!!http://youtu.be/xdGsKzmCgB0

That's a good burger!!!

They need to put bacon on this x 2

ooooh

I tried their last special burger, horrid experience: dry bun, super-salty meat, bland sweet dressing, a real nightmare. The processed cheese on this one is enough of a reason to avoid it.

I can has cheezburger?

is this for real? Cheese on a hamburger... why didn't I think of this!?!?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

A cheeseburger is not a science experiment.

processed cheese

Asoka...so healthy

That looks so yummy, the processed cheese with the creamy red processed cheddar cheese sauce.

Wow a cheeseburgerfomercial. Lotteria need to do more than add cheeese to their burgers to attract customers.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

for a second, just for a second, I thought perhaps Lotteria was going to do a Carls Jr; good meaty burgers...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Horrible.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Truely groundbreaking. Adding cheese to a hamburger! What genius!
