Grand Hyatt Tokyo has unveiled its new summer menus, perfect for enjoying indoors or on the spacious open-air terraces. Its 10 restaurants and bars have prepared for the summer season with exceptional offerings including sensational summer afternoon teas, popular spicy noodles in chilled style, invigorating teppanyaki dishes, summer desserts and original cocktails.

Summer Tropical Fruit Afternoon Tea at The French Kitchen

Savor the best summer has to offer with an afternoon tea buffet featuring seasonal tropical fruits and healthy offerings at The French Kitchen. The beloved afternoon tea is given a new twist this summer with colorful and vitamin-rich healthy dishes using tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple and passion fruit. Of highlight is a fragrant passionfruit chocolate fountain, which exudes a refreshingly sweet aroma that diners can instantly smell as they walk into the buffet area. Celebrate the arrival of summer and boost the antioxidants level in your body with these sensational summer treats.

Ice Burger Afternoon Tea at The Oak Door

Beginning July, The Oak Door will introduce a brand-new afternoon tea menu consisting of icy cold bite-size dessert burgers and cinnamon-flavored flour tortillas for diners to get the sweet out of the hot summer. Filled with a magical combination of seasonal fruits, sweets, herbs and ice cream sandwiched between burgers or tacos, these mini bites themselves are enticing in sight and dynamic in taste. The tea set comes with a unique syphon tea that can be customized by infusing a selection of three out of 10 herbs, spices, tea leaves and fruits. 

Chilled Spicy Noodles

Chilled Tan-Tan Noodles (white sesame soup base) at Chinaroom

Chinaroom, specializing in regional Chinese cuisine prepared and presented with a modern flair, will offer the chilled version of the chef’s signature Tan-Tan noodles this year. As a popular Sichuan dish, the Chilled Tan-Tan Noodles served at Chinaroom this summer is on another level of luxury, as the noodles are made with chili pepper and diners can choose between a soup base of white or black sesame seeds packed with health-boosting minerals that are beneficial to the skin and hair. Back by popular demand, this year, Chinaroom’s Chilled Gourmet Tsukemen (cold noodles served separately from the soup) will feature homemade noodles made with seaweed and served in a two-tier steamer basket featuring 15 types of the finest ingredients including Taraba crab, fish tempura, jellyfish, Botan shrimp, pork char siu and steamed chicken, along with sesame and soy sauces.

Spicy all’Arrabbiata at Fiorentina

Fiorentina will introduce a new chilled pasta menu, Spicy all’Arrabbiata, that will fulfill diners’ craving for a tickle of spice in their palate to combat the warm weather. This gluten-free pasta made with corn flour is served in gazpacho-style using Japanese fruit tomatoes as base. By using spices such as pepper and harissa instead of garlic and alcohol, this gluten-free dish has a spicy taste to finish and is prepared to be enjoyed by a wide range of diners. In addition, for a limited time, Fiorentina will also bring back its beloved Chilled Sea Urchin Cappellini made with rich Hokkaido sea urchin, caviar, cream and dashi, perfect to enjoy on the outdoor terrace. 

Invigorating Teppanyaki Dishes

Keyakizaka Beef Spicy Sirloin Steak

Beat the summer heat with a spicy wagyu sirloin that can be enjoyed at Keyakizaka teppanyaki restaurant this summer. The restaurant's original Keyakizaka wagyu beef sirloin is marinated overnight in a spicy sauce made with nine ingredients including thyme, ginger, sesame, chili pepper, star anise, cardamom, turmeric and garlic, grilled to perfection right before diners’ eyes.

Black Abalone from Niigata Prefecture with spicy dipping sauces

Another dish of highlight is Black Abalone from Niigata prefecture, steamed on the teppan (steel plate) to create a soft texture and then coupled with a miso-based sauce mixed with chili peppers as well as kochujang and doubanjiang. This summer, Keyakizaka features a variety of select vegetables from Kyoto which match perfectly with the flavor of the Black Abalone.

Grand Premium Short Cake at Fiorentina

The award-winning pastry chefs at Fiorentina Pastry Boutique will offer a new line-up of desserts highlighting the fruits of summer. Made with high-quality Japanese fruits and premium jersey milk cream, Grand Premium Short Cake comes in flavors of peach, mango or melon, the three most popular fruits of summer in Japan. It is set to be a signature cake of the season, demonstrating pristine quality and luxury.

Summer Verrines at Fiorentina

There are also surprising delights on offer at the boutique. Also of highlight this season are summer verrines, mini parfait-like desserts served in glasses. Guests can choose from flavors such as dragonfruit, blueberry and lavender, or lychee, watermelon and rose with real rose petals inside.

Coconut Bowl Parfait at Chinaroom

The chefs at Chinaroom will introduce a refreshing shaved ice parfait, perfect for cooling down in the summertime. Served in a coconut bowl and made with the restaurant’s popular desserts such as mango pudding, fresh mango, fresh cream, raspberry, coconut ice cream and mint, the parfait uses Ma Lai Go (Cantonese-style steamed sponge cake) as a base, offering an addictive caramel flavor and a satisfying chewiness to finish. 

Original Summer Cocktails

Sip on summer libations at Maduro and The Oak Door Bar, where the skilled mixologists will concoct unique cocktails using fresh Japanese fruit and pristine liquor and spirits. The Oak Door Bar will launch a line-up of original cocktails made with sake from Yamagata prefecture as well as summer fruits and vegetables from Japan. At the chic jazz lounge Maduro, guests can enjoy a sweet hybrid parfait cocktail made with premium seasonal Japanese fruits such as mango and peach. Cool down with these frozen cocktails during the hot summer days.
