Very confusing instructions
Adding 4 cups of ice cubes to the liquid that is already at room temperature is going to make it very cool to the touch, very quickly. And what food are we submerging in there?? Seems like this would make a really big load of brine - maybe 3L... For only 4 small chicken breasts?
In the ingredients i see no chicken rub, only "Seasoned Flour". How much do you need?
Sounds like it could be delicious, but for this much work, i think i will just go out to buy some fried chicken...

@fan: the ice is to speed the process, like how you put ice in cold coffee but it melts almost instantly.
This may have been rewritten since your post, but the only food mentioned before the brine that makes any sense would be the chicken breasts...and finally, the ingredients for the rub are listed above, though I am pretty sure the pickles are not meant to be listed with the rub...

Who wants to fry chicken, grilling chicken this summer is a lot easier.

Just a couple of questions. Where in Japan can I buy self-rising flour and buttermilk? How many crackers are there in a "sleeve" of saltines? The ones I can buy come in small packs of five. What kind of pickles — onions, takuan, etc? What's 325 degrees in real money? What's a potato bun and where can I get one? Doesn't anybody check that the recipes you suggest are sensible for what is available readily in Japan?

Shredded chicken breast, salt, pepper, mayo, lettuce and tomato. A couple of bacon slices if you want to get fancy. Faster, healthier, and just as tasty.
