Halloween doesn’t always have to be scary and gory. Hilton Tokyo’s latest dessert buffet “Alice in Rose Labyrinth” reinterprets Halloween, presenting a dark but elegant ambience defined by mirrors & roses. Situated in the hub of Shinjuku, Hilton Tokyo has always been a pioneer of dessert buffets in Japan. From bringing the concept of all-you-can-eat desserts into Japan to creating a magical world for your afternoon tea time, Marble Lounge in Hilton Tokyo has once again brought about a surprise with the personal butler service (limited to 1 table each day).
Weave your way through heart-shaped gates to enter the dining area, as though you are going through a labyrinth (maze). Be enthralled by the magical world of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland as the buffet area is lined with mirrors, roses and 30 sweet & savory items.
Take a closer look. Alice’s signature “Drink Me!” is mixed with bottles of “DO NOT Drink Me!” (indicated with a skull print) that brings a new taste. Also be very careful as some desserts come with (edible) screws and thorns. Try out “Queen Alice” and “Alice’s Heart Labyrinth” for a fruity taste with the scent of roses. The “Mad Hatter's Dark Labyrinth” is made of Valrhona’s 64% dark chocolate “Manjari”, a recommendation for chocolate lovers.
Even if you don’t particularly have a sweet tooth, don’t miss out on the “White Rose Trap” which is a brioche topped with béchamel sauce and cheese. “Shrimp Tart” and “Savory Cake (cake salé)” are also made to look the part, disguised as desserts. Trick or treat!
The experience is further enhanced with live violin performances on weekdays for the month of October. “Rose Labyrinth” will not be complete without a maze puzzle. Participation is optional but prizes await those who solve the puzzle.
Maid cafes are one of the most interesting experiences in modern Japan. Marble Lounge’s “Royal Halloween Butler Package” is one that is truly luxurious. Feel exclusive as your personal butler ushers you to your seat and brings you the desserts of your choice, allowing you to enjoy the afternoon while skipping all queues. Your day cannot get more luxurious as you sip on to champagne from the bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow.
