Wendy's has no restaurants in Japan.

Wendy's will return to Japan in November.

That's all I wanted to hear. Let's hope they will have those awesome burgers they used to sell about 10 years ago. Before they closed and left Japan. Wendy's was horrible, it even made MOS and McD look like they had some of the best burgers

Used to go with family, mostky to the small Minoh branch. Didn't often have the burgers, preferred the jacket potatoes and removing them from teh menu was a poor idea. The new burger sounds i9nteresting, not sure about a buttered bun though.

Going to Wendy's is not dining out.

Sad news for me. I can't eat ketchup or mayonnaise, but love mustard. T-T Oh well, at least when you special-order, you know the burger has been made fresh and not sitting around for a while!

nixed the mustard, and cut down on the pickles

Nooooo!

I would be willing to pay 100 yen more for a hamburger on a decent bun. There is no way to have a good sandwich or burger on bad bread.

When MacDonald's tried to gussy up their bun, it ended up worse.

I used to visit the Nagoya Wendy's...was a good burger meal alternative to McD and Mos. Love the chili and frostys! Hope they reappear in Nagoya too!

Wrong Jamie. The burger was, but the toppings come from a different bucket.

Going to Wendy's is not dining out.

If you're not making it and there are no dishes to do afterward, it is.

I guess if we make it (her place or mine) after eating, it was dining out.

If you bring it home.....then it's dining in.

The AP writer kind of glossed over how Cokes sales were actually higher after the New Coke dust settled. Oddly enough Coke II was still sold in the US up until 2002 and is still made in some foreign markets. I don't think Wendy's has a whole lot to lose. I think the thing McDonalds has going for it is it does Breakfast. Therefore they can sell high margin Coffee and other snack items.

The biggest issue I have with Wendy's is the food is so bad for you. I mean, they put the Triple Stack on the menu. That used to be a special order someone would eat on a dare. Whatever you do, don't let it get cold, because the amount of congealed fat was just disgusting.

McDonald’s, which has grown even larger in the past couple of years by remaking itself into a hip, healthy place to eat.

** SAY WHAT ?!?!?!

Perhaps the article could have stated they were returning to Japan - or did I miss it?

Bring back the salads, damn it.
