The article was very poorly researched and have several mistakes. Every virus have many strains that does not mean you can get any infection multiple times, Dengue is special because it has four serotypes, that means the strains are divided into four groups and the immunity against each group is different, that is why you can get Dengue up to four times. The vaccine is not effective against one strain but against all, as long as the person already got infected once. Also the reinfection do not depend on having "weak immunity" and people will get infected again as long as the virus belongs to a different serotype, even if they have perfectly fine immunity.

Apart from the mistakes the article is great news, treatment against Dengue is something positive enough, but it can also mean treatment for related RNA viruses is also possible.

Pretty soon you'll be taking a vaccine for everything under the Sun, if not a vaccine a pill, these virologist never even think of living a clean healthy life style as a preventive measure, popping pills and taking medicine constantly is not a healthy lifestyle. Having said that, if the drug has been completely tested over years, then and only then could it be called possibly safe, keeping an eye on after effects, Independent of the drug maker itself is of paramount importance.

Dengue kills people living a clean healthy life every day, it is not a useful preventive measure, in some cases it is even the opposite because a strong immunity is precisely how Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever develops, there is nothing negative about getting protective immunity from a vaccine instead of the infection.

Having said that, if the drug has been completely tested over years, then and only then could it be called possibly safe, keeping an eye on after effects, Independent of the drug maker itself is of paramount importance.

And what do you think health officials do? just get a report and believe it? how many years of tens of thousands of children dying from the infection would you consider necessary to delay a drug if the authorities say it is safe enough to treat a deadly disease? 5, 10, round up a million unnecessary children deaths so you can be sure the drug is "safe"?

Oh my. More brilliant people saving lives, and Sister is against it. Um Sister, we have computers now and advanced science way ahead of Dr. Salk’s time.

The further we move ahead with all sorts of vaccines the better it will be for humans and possibly delay extinction. Are you against air travel as well? The wheel invention although simple started us on a role. Look out universe, here we come.

Worry about profits and their own image, that's what health officials usually do, you'll find that some are involved in some of these medicines and that's why they push them. Most so called Health officials lately sound more and more like salesmen or politicians. Here in Japan there are Doctors that have been making money by saying a hospital room is occupied while in fact it's empty (they make money, believe it was something like 70,000 yen a room.), and the Journalist do not even investigate it. The reports on most drugs are a copy of whatever the Big Drug companies tell you. So far most of the articles on this drug use words like "it appears" or "maybe" "may" "early stages of testing" . Now if it actually works let's have a Champagne party, but until they know for sure, stay calm. Today people take these medicines by just trusting individuals who say they are effective and safe, without doing any research on their own, one reason we now have an opioid crisis. If taking multiple drugs and vaccines is your thing without doing any investigations on your own, fine, fill up and good luck.

Now the good point on this drug is, they do say they've been working on this for around 12 years now, so that's better than 3 months testing with the Corona Vaccine, it usually takes 5 or 6 years of testing. It should always be remembered the Drug companies until recently follow rules ranging all the way from innovation, immunity, clinical trials, safety, and regulation to manufacturing.

Imaginary conspiracies are not an argument, present proof this is what is even likely to happen, who is involved with this medicine? what kind of data that disproves its safety and efficacy is being hidden? obviously you are not just asking people to believe you and let tens of thousands of children die every year just because you say it, right?

The corona vaccine was tested for half a year, the same as previous vaccines that have been in use for years without problem (your "5 to 6 years" is ) and to the complete satisfaction of all the people that have been even decades involved in testing vaccines for safety, if you can't only get that right how can you ask people to just trust you are not wrong in everything else, especially when you offer absolutely no proof of what you say? Again, delaying something that can actually save lives because you (in direct contradiction of the professionals that know much more about the topic) think some imaginary standard of safety is not met is not a valid argument.

SisterJane:

Are you suggesting we should just abandon medicine. Perhaps we should try voodoo or cow urine.
