I agree with Reckless, workouts will put you to sleep like a horse tranquilizer. Other methods I've discovered (might not work for everyone though) are milk and honey, static stretching, hot or ice-cold shower and watching nature documentaries.

It depends on the cause of the insomnia. A particular method may work for one person, but not for others.
