Didn't think there were fat people in Japan - Are they talking about a Sumo Wrestler wanting to lose weight after retiring

Apparently you can now have a gastric balloon delivered in tablet form which is just as effective it not more so. Guess it won't arrive in Japan until the next Century though.

It would be more effective to wire their jaws together such that pizza, chips and burgers could not be eaten. The weight would soon come off then.

My mother had an operation to remove a cancerous tumour near her neck in a small out-patient section of a large hospital. She had to fast the night before and then her operation was delayed for 6 hours the next morning. Right before the operation, she was told she could have had breakfast and drunk water, but now it was too late. She ended up without food or water for near 24 hours. The problem? Everyone else was having gastric bands fitted! God knows why she was put in the same section as these patients, but I would have guessed patients who get cancer through no fault of theirs should get priority over people who just can't stop over-eating.
