I knew this since I was a kid.

that is why in Europe you can’t just throw away batteries in the trash.

you have to throw them into special containers for batteries.

never saw that hear in Japan!

Not only lithium. Electronic trash is a horrible mixture of plastics, metals, heavy metals, and rare earths. It is an environmental disaster unless strictly managed. But the environmetal crowd these days is mainly obsessed with CO2 levels instead of addressing this.

Lithium is the 25th most abundant element in the Earth's crust, and as the article states, we are all exposed to it from natural sources. So the question would seem to be, how is this increased exposure to lithium going to affect health, and what can be done, if necessary, to remove it from our drinking water?
