Novavax starts allowing participants on placebo to get COVID-19 vaccine in trials

I am now, at 08:30 on 8th Apr, at St Thomas’ Hospital in order to participate this cross over vaccine.

Participants who opt to do so will receive two additional doses of either vaccine for those who initially received placebo, or placebo for those who first got vaccine.

All participants will continue to be "blinded" or not know if they got the experimental vaccine or a placebo.

That is an interesting approach to preserve blinding in the study while at the same time letting all the participants eventually receive the vaccine.

At this point having as many options for immunization as possible is very important so hopefully the results of this trial will let this vaccine be used soon.
