The article openly admits that what it really means is "exercise" in general, and that golf without a golf cart qualifies as that.

I bet some blokes who work all week and do their WHO 150 minutes a week of exercise at the golf course get called all sorts by their wives.

There are a lot of other activities that provide the same results in a shorter time frame, are more enjoyable, and are less elitist, less racist, and less sexist. Golf courses waste acres upon acres of space that could be better used providing shelter for the homeless, local clinics so people don't have to travel so far to see a doctor, community playgrounds, and so much more.

I'd like to quote George Carlin here: "Think of the brains it takes to derive pleasure from this: Hitting a ball with a crooked stick, and then walking after it... and then; hitting it again! I say 'pick it up [expletive deleted]! You're lucky to find that thing. Put it in your pocket and go [expletive deleted] home!'"

Golf: a good walk ruined.

Golf is really boring.

Golf, without a golf cart is a wonderful way to lightly exercise. Silly comments about elitist - racist - sexist are not worth the time commenting about - just ask Gary Player or some of the great South Korean women players. Providing a large green space, often in the city, is a very positive thing for everyone. FoxSoraWinters comments were like a liberal rant having nothing to do with golf.

"Compared with other sports, the risk of injury in golf is moderate"

I can't wait to find out which sports have lower risk of injury than golf!

But wait, Tiger Woods has had a slew of injuries during his illustrious career - maybe it really is a high-risk sport!

"Golf is really boring"

Tell that to Tiger Woods fans who, after every time he sinks a putt, get down on their knees and chant "We're not worthy, we're not worthy!" Hee hee

I would be happy to, but I don't know any.

Watching golf seems to be a particularly boring activity. Man swings club and hits ball. This looks identical when any professional does it. Perhaps some fans take pleasure in watching this bit.

Then the ball flies through the air, the camera follows it. How dull.

Then the ball lands. If it lands quite near a small hole, everybody claps, or if the are American they scream like idiots at a Trump rally. If it lands slightly further away, they don't.

What is it that I am missing?

But yes, if you do little exercise, it is better than nothing.
