It can lead to addiction to alcohol? Wow. That could REALLY be bad!

I live in Washington, where weed is legal, and have Crohn's disease. I've had multiple friends tell me how they have a friend with Crohn's and smoking pot completely cured it. I just roll my eyes and ignore them.

Despite legalization, cannabis is not risk-free, the study team notes. Serious health problems associated with the drug include impaired short-term memory, reduced attention, impaired coordination and sleep problems, they point out.

How is impaired short-term memory a "serious health problem"? I have a horrible short-term memory without smoking cannabis - it's genetic. It's never felt like a serious health problem to me.

As for reduced attention and impaired coordination, as users get more experience, these become non-issues.

Regular cannabis use can also lead to an increased risk of dependence as well as addiction to alcohol or other drugs.

Um, so can chocolate or coffee, or any other substance.

This article is mixing old propaganda with new science.
