One minute the "experts" are telling us the overuse of anti biotics are creating "super bugs", now they want to go back to casual use of them. Baring in mind the point was "could save" not "would save".

Why 'experts' in inverted commas - they are experts, and experts wanting antibiotocs to be used properly and effectively is correct. There are still many illnesses that can be treated or prevented with abx, just because morons over use them doesn't mean they should not be used at all. This study shows that these preventative doses cut down on abx use overall. Post partum infections are preventable, assisted vagnal deliveries cause trauma to an area vulnerable to life changing or deadly infections. Or maybe you aren't interested in that.

want to go back to casual use of them

Medically assisted birth using forceps or vacuum doesn't sound to me like casual use.

Anyone try Colloidal Silver? Works great, just as well as any antibiotic. Used it a lot, & so have friends. No side effects..unless you worry about argyria in which case it's like ODing on any substance.

could save more than 7,000 infections in new mothers in the UK each year, and around 5,000 in the United States.
