TV creates virus, we call it PROPAGANDA

This is just designed to scare the public and completely unjustifiable

No, that would apply much more to antivaxxer propaganda because it can be demonstrated as false. the denomination of "stealth" comes from the way the strain appears as a different one on simple tests and it is not revealed as Omicron until sequencing is performed. There is nothing specially scary about the strain "pretending" to be another.

so stealth most wont even realize they have been sick

Sick people obviously know they are sick, else they would not consider themselves as such.

TV creates virus, we call it PROPAGANDA

Pretending that the information originated in the research done by experts in professional institutions of science or medicine comes from the TV is plain disinformation. What of the information of the article is different from what the scientists and doctors say? nothing? then obviously it is not created by any media.

Initial research suggests BA.2 is more transmissible than the original omicron — about 30% more contagious by one estimate.

DOES BA.2 MAKE YOU SICKER?

A Japanese lab study suggests that it could, based on experiments with hamsters.

Great, so what's the bad news....

Doctors said individuals should ... remember that vaccines and boosters offer excellent protection against the worst effects of COVID-19, no matter the variant.

Some doctors also say individuals should remember that vaccine and booster avoidance offers excellent protection against the worst effects of the vaccines, no matter the variant.

That is counterproductive because the much more frequent and serious risks come from the infection. This is like saying losing your hand is an excellent way to avoid having hangnails.

Yeh so dangerous people don’t even know they have it!

Pfizer won’t be happy…no wonder their share price is dropping! As good a sign as any that the pandemic is over!

Until they get symptoms, complications and die. Trying to misrepresent COVID as something inocuous when it still causes countless deaths is deeply irresponsible and a very transparent attempt of disinformation.

Dear media,

enough with the scaremongering.

yours sincerely

enough with the scaremongering

Did you even read the article? giving people oportune information and reassurance about what has been found scientifically is the opposite of what scaremongering would be.

Remind me, how many dead so far?

I remember in the early days of this virus people were saying that flu kills 600,000 a year, so by comparison COVID was nothing to worry about.

They've stopped with that line now that COVID has claimed 6m.

I barely drink, don't smoke, eat healthy, get plenty of sleep and was once a national and state competitor in BJJ and Judo in my country and still love the healthy lifestyle. I got triple vaccinated and STILL got smaked hard with omicron. Not hospitalized but fevers above 38 for at least 5 days, swollen lymph nodes, chronic headache joint pain etc. It's up to individuals to get vaccine but man... I'm sure as hell glad I did!

you must be one of those people who wait excitedly everyday for the numbers to come out.

@virusrex

this information has been given out to Joe public almost on a daily basis for two years now. If people don’t know the potential danger by now, they never will

Put a link from two years ago about the potential dangers of the sub-variant BA.2 and how there is also epidemiological information that says this may not be specially important for public health.

One thing is to refuse to be informed and be always scared about information, another completely different is to pretend there is no new information and science stopped two years ago.

The information & research may have changed over the two years, but guess what hasn’t changed - how to prevent getting it.

Get vaccinated, wear a mask & wash your hands.

it ain’t rocket science, it’s common sense.

Which have absolutely nothing to do with what the article is about, which you would know if you had read it. This obviusly comes as a surprise for you, but people are interested in how the pandemic is likely to change according to new information even if they themselves are already doing their best to prevent getting infected or sick. Focusing on the things that "do not change" (which they have by the way) is not a valid reason to pretend you can ignore all the other things that can drastically change. People are for example not "scared" from finding out the vaccines and boosters are equally effective against BA.1 and BA.2, or that getting infected by BA.1 is not a guarantee that the person is protected against BA.2. This helps anybody (that is not afraid of new information) to make better decisions about it, even if you yourself are not interested on doing it.
