I wonder about those kerosene heaters. I use one in my kitchen for heat, but starting to think twice about what the long term consequences might be.

We always turn on the extractor fan and have a carbon monoxide alarm. The family of my spouse used wood for cooking when she was a child. The walls of the kitchen are black with soot. Using IH more these days because we have propane gas which is now more expensive than electricity.

If I wanted to stop people doing something that they have been doing happily for decades I would find a potential risk in it, however tiny, and spin it as proof that the activity is dangerous.

Ok, so it seems to be your argument that this thing about gas stoves is activist scientists catastrophizing an insignificant risk. If you want us to buy that, you have to show how/why the risk they are bringing up can safely be ignored. Otherwise your argument doesn't work for this situation.

Activist science. There's a lot of it about nowadays.

This is just so stupidly benign.

All the things THEY SAY are bad for your health the sun, electricity, burning coal, fire wood, the air, water and now gas. Did I leave out anything is bad, Please add to the list and as the list grows perhaps the last man standing could sign out saying all these things sucked the life out of us.

If gas in the home is a problem, what effect does human flatulence have? Should we change our diets?

probably, I never suffer from gas. Eating slowly helps too.

My proofs : when kid, was using gas every day for many years before microwave came into our lives. Never had any issue outside allergies with pollen.

That's not proof, that's an anecdote.

My asthma started at 44... and using gas does not make any difference.

Or maybe it did.

And I repeat, breathing polurants is never best thing for your lungs, but pollutants are everywhere

And when you have a gas stove, you increase them.

And I repeat, breathing polurants is never best thing for your lungs, but pollutants are everywhere, and can be totally natural ones.

Explanation on 'activist science'.

If I wanted to stop people doing something that they have been doing happily for decades I would find a potential risk in it, however tiny, and spin it as proof that the activity is dangerous.

Everything has a risk element. Crossing the road (RTAs), peeling a potato with a sharp knife (cuts), eating fish (swallowing a bone), dating (STDs). That doesn't make any of it dangerous. It is all normal.

Yeah, who would ever think a gas-releasing item that releases gas directly into your open home could ever affect the air in that home? Only stupid people who believe in science and facts. Losers. Can I get an Amen? Can I get a hallelujah?

If you study what asthma is, no connection.

Indeed, because asthma is a genetic disease. Of course there are elements in the air that can worsen the effect (allergens for instance, like any pollutant by the way).

This study is not demonstrating anything.

It is like saying you should ventilate appropriately when making a fire otherwise you'll make your lungs weaker.
