It should be common sense that any measure to reduce the risk of infection does just that, reduce it, not eliminate it. Unfortunately people many times hear only what they want to hear. And solid advice well presented turns out being understood as something completely different.

Being outside decreases the risk importantly, but never eliminates the possibility, and many other factors make that risk go up or down even further.

It is not the same to be outside, wearing a mask and taking care of not being closer than 1m from other people than being outside, in a crowd where everybody is talking loudly without a mask. In both cases being out in the open helps, but there is a limit on how much.

Catching coronavirus outside is rare but not impossible

Everything is theoretically "possible", but we do not restructure our entire lives around it. It is also "possible" to win the Takarakuji tomorrow or be killed by lightning. I do wear the mask in the subway and shops (partly in order not be the nail that stands out), but out in the fresh air? No way. That is just insane.

Most people seen wearing masks outside - for example riding a scooter etc. - are just doing that because it’s a nuisance to put on or take off with dropping into stores etc.
