My wife thrusts medicines on me when I'm ill. Reluctant to take them, they're usually covertly discarded, but sometimes she hovers over me to ensure ingestion. And I've had some bad reactions.

With TrumpCare? How are CV patients going to pay for the medical care since TrumpCare is a total failure? They are so afraid to go to the hospital with bills in the 100s of thousands (or worse) that they won't get treated and keep spreading it.

Doctors would know it by now if there was strong indication. Remember Trump is the person who insists that walls work to keep out people who have ladders and shovels. Are there any new memos from clinicians or researches (I don't mean from Trump University) that have stated this anti malaria drug shows real promising results? What do the best medical minds say? Remember truth vs. Hollywood and don't take Netflix so seriously. This isn't a Hollywood zombie movie where there is a sudden solution to wipe out the sickness with a simple drug cocktail and all you need to do is go to the local Walgreens (as long as the zombies don't get you first). In the future? Yes, but it will take a lot of hard work and study before something is mainstream.

Yes of course - and how are they going to pay for it in the USA with TrumpCare? At least in Japan you are safe from bankruptcy. You may not be safe from the disease but you won't have to take out a second mortgage to pay for healthcare bills here.

I'm sure you have a study you can link to that supports this assertion.

Re-purposing existing drugs that have been through testing, is a more realistic solution for a short-term solution than placing hope in a vaccine.

However, it's not a matter of 'lets try everything'. Doctors need to figure out if something works, what dose works, if a different does is counter-productive etc.

Trump has been desperate for a quick solution, because he has an election coming up, and this is destroying his one claim to fame, the economy. So he's trying to pretend everything is alright. He's been doing that from the start. First downplaying it, then playing it off as a hoax by the democrats, then blaming it on the states. Now he's trying to find something, anything, that can fix this quickly. That could very well lead to many more American deaths or unexpected side effects.

What the world needs right now are leaders who are open, realistic, and objective in their approaches to dealing with this epidemic. Trump is none of these.

The idiot in the office is worried this will last all the way to election season. He can't control the narrative or the economy, and people are not being fooled by his distractions anymore.

Russia can't help win this fight. The "war-time" president was defeated in November of last year when disbanded the Pandemic Unit, fired the person in charge of keeping and eye on China infections, removing funding, and sabotaging Obamacare!

Did you read a little farther and discover that those poor individuals did not ingest anti-malaria / lupus medication? The man and his wife drank a fish tank cleaner containing chloroquine as a Covid19 preventative. Apparently, human chloroquine meds do work to relieve some of the symptoms of Covid19.

No, it's just a cult-like story. He's simply a successful person who used to be poor as a child and became a surgeon (who happens to be black) and he let it get to his head. Although a bit of an exception there are many stories of poor people becoming successful. What really is special about Dr. Carson? He is also a proponent of TrumpCare and that's killing a lot of people - it's a fact. For public health he is one of the worst doctors.

You tell me. Apparently a lot of people get silliness in their minds and make all kinds of illogical leaps. The circus, the craziness, the noise and general inanity surrounding Covid19 is beyond anything I could've ever imagined.

Whatever the death number from covid19 might ultimately be, I think it will be a very small footnote in the history of how covid19 changed the world.

Run some numbers. Calculate how many people are sick or dead vs the population of the world or a locality like NYC or Italy. Even one death is too many, but keep in mind that most of the fatalities are made up of people who already had one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
