Crawling under a heavy winter futon has always helped me sleep well.

I wonder if it's a subconscious security thing. The extra weight makes you feel more shielded from imagined (or real I suppose) threats. After all, there's a reason comforters, duvets, covers or whatever you want to call them exist in the first place instead of people simply sleeping in their clothes.

If I were camping in bear infested woods, for example, I'd sleep much easier in a cabin than I would in a tent.
