The link was "more pronounced" with heavy drinking -- equivalent to one average-sized drink per day

1 a day is heavy? God forbid you have 1.5

Yes, it does. 100% sure. PMS is an invention of old drunkard misogynist dudes, in order to stigmatise women. For science, we've known for decades that women may suffer from a large number of conditions that may fluctuate with their cycle, ranging from simple iron deficiency, to more complicated hormonal issues and also endometriosis.

A trawl of data from 19 studies in eight countries found a "moderate association"

Another pointless research. We still need to investigate to know whether boozing is bad ? I don't think so. Please use resources to research cures for the actual conditions.

The answer is given by the title of this useless article: Does alcohol cause PMS ?

in other words : it is not clear or proven yet.

Phrases like "cannot strictly rule out that PMS causes women to drink in order to mitigate their symptoms" , the "potential causal association" between alcohol use and PMS was "interesting" or " the findings "are important given that the worldwide prevalence of alcohol drinking among women is not negligible," only make clear that the researchers have done some reading and been analysing a few stats but that the final research still has to be done.

Interesting? Maybe, but any research on the effects of alcohol on humans should be gender neutral for the big picture on health and costs.

For the moment I don't see more 'breast tenderness' after a few bubbles as something to be worried about :)

No. Teetotal women may have PMS, women who drink may not.

Trying to explain a complex and misunderstood problem like PMS with one simple, and rubbish, explanation diminishes the experiences and suffering of women with PMS.
