Yes, young men are often stupid. Most live past this stage, some don't.

It's not necessarily just stupid, though. Some may have thought they were taking a single oxycodone and instead were getting a many times fatal dosage of fentanyl. I guess it is not terribly bright to take anything you don't know the provenance of, but there are different levels of stupid and merely taking drugs is not the highest.

Sad state of affairs. The white American male is headed for extinction.

Sad state of affairs. The white American male is headed for extinction.

For centuries white males held women as property and enslaved non whites. But it seems as soon as these groups gained some degree of equality with white males, a segment of the white male population just can't handle having to compete with those whom they for so long held in contempt as somehow lesser than them. When it becomes manifestly apparent that a white male isn't anything special they come apart at the seams.

But extinction? No. There are no shortage of white males who welcome equality and do not fear the idea that a woman is a man's equal or that a person of color is the equal of a white. Those who do not fear will go forward and prosper.

You can thank the great American pharma companies for this sad and disgusting epidemic based purely on greed!

Nope.

You can thank China - by far the major manufacturer and seller of fentanyl - the drug used in 84 percent of all fatal overdoses for teens and 54 percent overall.

Yet another killer plague China is exporting.

Good for pay bump maybe, but not much we don’t already know. How about Ty you research how much Fentanyl is coming through Biden’s open borders? Ya know, something useful.

Frightening figures indeed, and sadly I see no end to it. The USA is in a state of decline, more poor and homeless, millions having to work 3 jobs or more, a completely dysfunctional justice system propergated by the wealthy 1% and governments who do not really care one bit, because they are owned by the 1%. And never forget, countless millions of $'s are laundered through multiple banks by drug cartels.

Ophelia, you never respond, but it is worth calling out anyways: your UK has identical issues and Japan is not exactly ascendant.

Slaves have been held in every culture and by every race that I am aware of. Black Africans had slaves and kidnapped other blacks into slavery. Want to talk about female right? Check Iran, Afghanistan and genital mutilation in Africa. White American males are held to much much higher standards than men in any other country.

Fentanyl is killing the youth.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

There are many and various factors in the youth turning to substance abuse in this stressed out high pressure crazy world, but the indifference of the general public and the lack of decent drug education ('just say no' doesn't cut it) is not helping anyone. And these stupid unnecessary wars and hatred of the past 30 years or so have turned Americans' heart into stone. They don't give a damn. It's just judge and condemn. They're ignorant and dumb about it and choose to be.

Fentanyl is gnarly. I have three friends who know people who have OD on that junk. I'm glad it wasn't around when I was a teen. So easy to OD on and difficult to detect if something is laced with it.

It's simply a question of education and public information. When I was young, it was more than only a short topic in the school curriculum and additionally also very cheap books for young readers were sold at all bookstores with every thinkable detail about illegal or dangerous drugs , all known kinds, where they come from, ingredients, chemical structures, which effects occur, consequences for own mind and body health, society, economy etc. After those lessons and that lecture everyone was informed perfectly and no one ever consumed drugs other than legal alcoholic or tobacco products. Well, you guess it, that was still during and behind the Iron curtain. There even haven't such drugs been available , produced or sold, even if an educated and informed person would ever have wanted them anyway. Potential penalties and harsh justice was very clearly to be expectef and absolutely no tolerance shown, not for dealing and not for possession. So a drug free country obviously can work absolutely fine, but only if really wanted. So my guess is, when it's about drugs, there is also a rather wrong understanding or too much of private and public freedom.

Funny but it has been my experience traveling and working abroad that outside the US people have low expectations of Americans in general and no particular expectation that your whiteness brings anything extra and desirable to the table /: Being American abroad I have been scorned and lectured more often than I have been welcomed.

If so then maybe because there's too many cretins in America who know nothing but flap their idiot big Pac-Man yappers about things they know zero about and they judge and condemn everything and everybody. The USA has become a land of loudmouth rip-off gurus and crowds of upturned faces of people who don't THINK for themselves. They just believe all the crap that TV, AM radio and new age authors/motivational speakers and other scoundrels shove down our throats.

I refer to the past years of 2016 - 2021 and the aftereffects as a clear example.

Like Democrats that push for drug legalization constantly?

*The USA has become a land of loudmouth rip-off gurus and crowds of upturned faces of people who don't THINK for themselves. *

Well, isn’t that what you want in a free and democratic society?

They just believe all the crap that TV, AM radio and new age authors/motivational speakers and other scoundrels shove down our throats.

How would you know what people believe or not?

What was wrong? Patriotism high, Gas low, inflation low, low crime drug usage lower, no wars…

There's no wars involving the US now, too. And you can choose to be patriotic by passing the requisite funding for allies that are defending us.
