Seems like boosters are a scam to me

Your link fails to prove what you think, first because it does nothing to prove boosters are more or less necessary, second because plenty of epidemiological factors (not included in the article) can explain the observations, and third because the purpose would be to prevent complications and deaths, not just infections.

A company can try to get approval for selling whatever they produce, and may get it if it is useful and safe enough, that does not make it a scam, for that it would be necessary that false information was used to try and deceive the institutions in charge of approval, as happened with HCQ for example.

At this point there is no evidence of need of boosters, they may be in the future, or not. But even if it turns out that booster are necessary (or just beneficial) they are simply much easier to produce than something that is intended to prime an immune response, many countries have the means to produce something good enough to become a booster without ever having to rely on any company.

Is it not better to have a booster shot prepared in case we may need it ?

0 ( +8 / -8 )

If need be, Absolutely. Put me down for one.

Vaxed people will get 2-3 shots a year for the rest of their lives IMO. Us, none.

@Pierre: Who is 'us'?

The previous pandemic from 1918 lasted two years.

Why would it be necessary to have boosters for the rest of our lives?

Because in 1918 the world was not nearly as mobile as today. The only reason it spread as far as it did was the massive wave of troop movements home from europe after the war ended, which was pretty much a one-time event.

What a scam ! They will have you wearing masks forever and giving you a shot every month for the terrible new variants. If you let them !

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

You only lie to yourself. What really is needed is a boosted lockdown, a decisive last one, extinguishing the viruses. Otherwise you only buy some time within the already strongly reduced life expectancy. For example, if you’re still young and all had an average life expectancy of 78 years before the pandemic, now let’s say one of 58 and with the yearly booster shots you might regain a little bit from what already is lost, let’s say up to 65 or 70. That’s all what is to say about it.

I am curious when better vaccines, more efficient to new variants, will be available, when pharmas sell all the old ones?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I recall sticking out my tongue and getting a drop of pink liquid on it for a polio booster. Don’t recall of anyone else since 60 years back getting that again. But thanks for Salk and that vaccine. Hope these are just as good. Never wanted to be one of Jerry’s children but we always shook money out of our piggy banks to donate yearly.

Booster shots are even more unneeded than the initial vaccines.

And those who recovered from a natural infection have absolutely no need for any of them...

I thought you got your liquid in your eyes, hence your issue.

Or am I getting confused with someone else who got sand(y) in their eyes, and they got itchy?

I got the oral polio vaccine (OPV) on a small, white, plastic spoon in elementary school. The liquid was pink.

It took some time for the Salk polio vaccine to reach oral form.

Given that annual influenza vaccines are given the same way as the Covid vaccines, it’ll be likely they’ll stay as a jab and not become available a morning snack.

Vaxed people will still have their lives.

My brother just called and told me our polio pink liquid was on a sugar cube. I hope someday this and influenza vaccines become similar. I am in awe all the time at how smart these doctors are.

Raw beer...

Maybe not but the ones who died certainly won't.

There was another doctor competing with Salk and his live virus but I forget who it was, but this stuff is so interesting.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

No, you don't. Try natural healthy lifestyle. Not the chemicals or whatever the modern medicines.

A common exit for people that find themselves without any argument to defend their opinion is to make worthless predictions about the future, "you will see!"

Booster shots are even more unneeded than the initial vaccines.

And those who recovered from a natural infection have absolutely no need for any of them...

The world class experts that have developed drugs, measures and vaccines that have prevented countless deaths disagree with you, saying that vaccines are extremely needed and that natural infection is not necessarily as protective as a vaccine, and they have the data to prove it. Can you provide something to support your views? or will it be again that you supposedly did it before but nobody can see it so we have to trust you?

Given that annual influenza vaccines are given the same way as the Covid vaccines, it’ll be likely they’ll stay as a jab and not become available a morning snack.

Intranasal vaccines have been in development for several respiratory infections including influenza and now COVID, they are still in preclinical trials, but since it makes more sense to develop them at this point there is a chance they will be ready even on time to be used against the pandemic.

No, you don't. Try natural healthy lifestyle. Not the chemicals or whatever the modern medicines.

Countless people have died from COVID even following healthy lifestyles, vaccines (as well as many other modern medicines) efficiently supplement this and lower very importantly the risk of complications and deaths, rejecting them is not a logical stance.

Please understand this so call vaccine has kill over 10.000 people in the U.S look up for yourself at Vaers

That is false, if vaccinated people die at the same rates than unvaccinated people (something you can clearly see in the VAERS report, look it up for yourself) that obviously means the vaccines are not causing those deaths, they are a consequence of vaccinating millions of people of advanced age and many health problems precisely because they are the population that more require protection from COVID.

I dont understand why most of you are rushing to get vaccinated as if the CCP virus is gonna bring you down south. Been listenen to this for the last two years. Same people bickering same old stuff, nothing new and nothing hapening other than media fear mongering.

adjacent 1 type, (this is frequent): Associates a normal chromosome (e.g. chromosome a) with the rearranged (or derivative) from the other pair (der(b)). It gives rise to "duplication-deficiency": there is an excess of some bits and a lack of other bits.

I know quite a bit about mRNA and chromosomal issues. One learns to study quickly and efficiently when having a child with such a condition.

I am totally positive about vaccines and what medicine men started thousands of years back.

Did you get your vaccination in Japan? Did you have faith in the distribution system? Did you verify the amount of dose with which you were injected? There have been reports in some areas that the amounts of the dose were below the standard recommended amount. Hence, you might need a booster to make up for the initial lack of coverage you received.

Are we going to need COVID-19 booster shots?

Rethorical question very much? Pfizer is already announcing its booster, and the other Big Pharma conglomerates are undoubtedly on the same track. This is heading towards a subscription model, with everyone dependent on a vaccing operating system with regular upgrades from the mothership. Remember how Microsoft got rich.

Unfortunately, there is no way to convince anti-vaxxers they should be vaccinated. Nor should they be forcibly vaccinated. I think the only thing that will convince them is seeing others like them getting sick and sometimes dying.

Talk about the first-world collapsing from within.

Reality check: Many of the critics of the untested mRNA vaccines delivered on an emergency approval basis are in fact virologists who spent their professional life developing vaccines. It seems you are unaware of that.

Look it up for yourself brother! don’t believe me. I don’t want you to believe me. Look it up make your own decision. I made mine and I’m very happy with it.

Looked up, every single piece is wrong, false or deeply misleading. That is the reason you put no references. One thing is to be mistaken by honest ignorance, another completely different is to repeat information you already know to be false, just to deceive others.

Rethorical question very much? Pfizer is already announcing its booster, and the other Big Pharma conglomerates are undoubtedly on the same track

Read the article, one thing is that companies offer something, another completely different is that this is in any way necessary. Do you feel compelled to consume anything that is offered to you? even when the experts say you don't need it? because if that is the case the problem is not that the experts are pushing things to you, more like compulsive consumerism.

Reality check: Many of the critics of the untested mRNA vaccines delivered on an emergency approval basis are in fact virologists who spent their professional life developing vaccines

The problem? they don't have the data to support their completely personal, subjective views. Being a professional only makes this worse, because they don't have the excuse of not knowing evidence is absolutely necessary. They are not just wrong by doing this, they are professional negligence level wrong.
