Far fewer patients use Repatha and Praluent, newer drugs that cost $6,000 or more a year. Insurers often restrict coverage of those medicines, which are shots patients give themselves once or twice a month.

Unless you live in a country with a civilized attitude to healthcare and necessary medicines are funded for all regardless of income . . . . .

The article states that in clinical studies, there were more deaths from heart attacks in the group that took the drug than in the group which took a placebo. Isn't the purpose of this drug supposed to be to prevent heart attacks? How does a study which shows that heart attacks are more frequent in the group that took the drug than in the group that did not take it come to the conclusion that the drug is effective?

......AAAAAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDDD while the TV ad shows a fictional family where everything is so 'ob-la-di ob-la-da' the motormouth narrator lists the side effects that are sooooo bad that they are worse than the condition that the drug is supposed to alleviate! So ask your doctor about this crap today!
