A Japanese dentist once told me I needn't worry about HIV in Japan because Japan is an island.

Considering that your health results will be reported to the company (if you are on their insurance), it is extremely dumb to get tested on company check-ups. You are very likely to lose your job, since firing for health reasons is one of the few ways to terminate a full time worker.

With 25000 registrated cases of HIV/AIDS Japan has the same number of cases as Australia which country has a relatively low number of cases among developed countries.
