The aphrodisiac properties of flibanserin were discovered accidentally when it was tested as an anti-depressant, the drug-maker said. >

This quote from the article is interesting .... but not surprising. In fact it is rather obvious. You don't need to be a scientist to understand that the more sex you have, the less depressed you will be. It would be great for helping weight-loss too.

Watch out America ...here comes a fitter, healthier and happier society.

While I'd be interested to know how one could have "2.7" sexual encounters, the increase from 2.7 to 4.4 really means an increase of about one encounter a month. I hope I could manage that without medicating my wife.

It's not a difference between 2.7 (the average count from the start of the study) and 4.4. Only between 3.7 (the placebo group) and 4.4.

Maybe the difference between 2.7 and 3.7 is attributable to the motivation to enroll in such a study in the first place.

You could get a 1-encounter-a-month jump for free (2.7 to 3.7), with no side effects, by buying placebo pills and labeling them "flibanserin"!

I wonder if it's illegal to sell fake boxes with no pills inside. ("Here, honey, look what I bought for you ...".)

They should have compared it to alcohol, as well. But I guess that would have looked really bad if they'd come out short in they comparison.
