The stress on Japanese children from a very young age is overwhelming, little wonder suicide is so rampant here.

Modern society inculcates this

If society is bad, and there are clearly problems with it, then it's normal and sane to be maladjusted.

Maybe children are depressed and suicidal because the future and society at large is so unstable.

This text is about US teenagers not Japanese ones. I wonder what the figures would be in Japan.
