Parents who hesitate “are taking an enormous risk and continuing to fuel the pandemic,’’ Murphy said.

If what he said is according kids from 5-11 age, this so called doctor is not worth to get called a doctor, and he must immediately give back his doctor title.

What an idiot!

Does this idiot understand which enormous risk the parents are taking by giving this new vaccine, with a very less effectivness, to their little kids?

I don't think so.

Parents who hesitate “are taking an enormous risk and continuing to fuel the pandemic,’’ Murphy said.

And before you blame the kids to fuel the pandemic in your country, you should firsr look at your adults.

Hospitalizations of children under 18 with COVID-19 in the U.S. have climbed to their highest levels on record in the past few weeks.

And additional, just a few days ago, I read an article where, I guess it was Dr. Fauci, said, that most of the kids in hospital are not there because of Covid.

They are hospitalized because of other sickness and Covid was just found out, because these kids were tested.

The low rates are “very disturbing,’’ said Dr. Robert Murphy, executive director for the Institute for Global Health at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. “It’s just amazing."

No, what's very disturbing is governments, assisted by doctors beholden to grant funding and attack dogs in the media, are trying to coerce parents into injecting kids, who are at the lowest risk of any population cohort a a whole, with an experimental vaccine whose long-term effects aren't known.

Trying to push these "vaccines" onto kids is sickening!

Sorry but the "idiot" has the scientific evidence on his side, the risks are higher even for children when they are left unvaccinated. Pediatricians have been very supportive of child vaccination since the data showed evidence of usefulness and safety for them.

And additional, just a few days ago, I read an article where, I guess it was Dr. Fauci, said, that most of the kids in hospital are not there because of Covid.

It could be 90% hospitalized from other causes and it would still be very positive to reduce the remaining 10% as much as possible. The problem with your rushed judgment is to blindly assume children have zero risk from COVID, which is false.

No, what's very disturbing is governments, assisted by doctors beholden to grant funding and attack dogs in the media, are trying to coerce parents into injecting kids, who are at the lowest risk of any population cohort a a whole, with an experimental vaccine whose long-term effects aren't known.

If there is scientific data that shows lower risks for children when vaccinated that is reason enough to promote vaccination for them, this is exactly what happens with other infectious diseases.

Also, trying to pretend COVID is a disease that have infected people for centuries so you already know the long term effects is obviously invalid. COVID is MUCH more likely to have hidden long term problems, particularly because it already has and regularly new risks are being discovered. Exposing children to these long term or permanent effects is the actually disturbing part.

Show the data that proves the risk increases instead of decreasing with vaccination, else there is nothing wrong with vaccinating children to reduce the risks for their health.

You're calling a published Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) an idiot, so what exactly are your credentials?

Not necessarily, especially if the baseline risk is low and the treatment is new with no long term studies. RRR (heavily emphasized by pharma sales reps) needs to be interpreted in light of ARR. Would you vaccinate children in Japan against dengue or rabies (both with much higher CFRs than COVID-19)?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Assessment of risk seems to be what is driving the "gut punch", more than misinformation, conspiracy or racism (might as well throw in the kitchen sink).

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Not necessarily, especially if the baseline risk is low and the treatment is new with no long term studies.

That makes no sense, "no long term studies" applies much more to COVID than the vaccines, that use technology that have been used in humans since the 90s. This is included in the risk assesment, which clearly indicates COVID as an infectious disease is simply much more likely to have hidden risk that will be apparent in the long term. Some are being found already.

Would you vaccinate children in Japan against dengue or rabies (both with much higher CFRs than COVID-19)?

For dengue it would require one previous infection, and for rabies people are vaccinated (and the human vaccine obviously available) for people that could be exposed (including children). At this point it should be more than clear that children can easily be infected by SARS-CoV-2 and if the vaccine reduces the risk then it is justifed promoting it.

Does being a published professor of medicine making automatically everything what he is saying clever?

Does being a published professor of medicine making automatically everything what he is saying clever?

Do you have any argument that disproves the evidence he is using of children hospitalizations and the safety of vaccines to say he is wrong?

Does being a published professor of medicine making automatically everything what he is saying clever?

No offence, but I assume he is immeasurably more knowledgeable than you. Unless, of course you have studied infectious disease and written 300+ publications, maybe we should all be taking your advise.

On Japan no child under 10 has passed away from Covid and that’s from the much more deadly variants. There is no reason to vaccinate healthy young children except for monetary gain.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

In Japan, only 3 deaths are associated with Covid in the under 20s, from 177,800 confirmed infections.

The first death was reported on JT to be of someone with other health issues (I don't know about the remaining 2).

Stats can also be found from other countries.

It is clear that the risk benefit ratio for healthy kids does not favor vaccinating them. That was also brought up by a number of experts during the FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee – 10/26/2021

I urge all of you to check it out. It's 8 hours long, but you can learn a lot by viewing just a few minutes starting at 4:40:00.

Today, with Omicron, vaccinating healthy kids is even more senseless.

Adults should make their choice, but children should not be exposed to an experimental shot against an infection poses fundamentally no harm to them. Period.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

In Japan, only 3 deaths are associated with Covid in the under 20s, from 177,800 confirmed infections.

Which is still only tiny portion of the actual population unde 20, extrapolatin those are a lot of deaths that can be prevented with vaccination.

It is clear that the risk benefit ratio for healthy kids does not favor vaccinating them.

What is clear is the opposite, you have never offered any evidence that the vaccines cause more problems than COVID, just that you want that to be true, which is not an argument.

Adults should make their choice, but children should not be exposed to an experimental shot against an infection poses fundamentally no harm to them. Period.

COVID is not innocuous on children, not even only counting deaths but specially counting every other negative outcome from infection, the Pfizer vaccine has been fully approval so it is not experimental in any sense of the word, and according to the experts and the evidence they present it lowers the risk for children, vaccines are the ones that represent no fundamental harm to them, while COVID does.

The apple does not fall far from the tree, those parents are doing us all a favour. Thanks science!

Those parents are doing their children a favor, protecting them from a much more risky disease than what the vaccines represent.

....and apart from what will be no doubt some Joe Rogan listening parents quoted above the general consensus DOES seem to be that vaccinations for all keep people out of hospital AND prevent the possibility of Long Covid. The anti-vax (dwindling) minority cherry picking comments again.
