You don't say? Overwork causes stress, illness, early grave. You don't need to be an Einstein to see that.

If you overwork under any company with stress and tension, you got to get out from there.

But if you overwork on your own even though little bit of stress won't bother, then your health is good but better with healthy diet.

Working long hours and awareness on how the boss evaluate people sitting in front of the desk working long overtime hours is more valuable than being productive and help the organization to be profitable ... the lost decade in the 90s is now 30 years and keep going up.

China was far down from technology and other areas regardless their authoritarian methods (I do disagree) but showing more results! Japan can do much better if we can focus!

I guess 35-40 hours/week is the best, and don't forget a long, miserable commute will nullify a short work week.

I think that 35-40 hours/week is the best, especially if you add a work from home option and a flex schedule.

"WHO staff, including its chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, say they have been working long hours during the pandemic ". Really? After their shambolic response to the pandemic which has cost MILLIONS OF HUMAN LIVES. I wonder how much Tedros and his cronies are paid for doing this job? Does anyone seriously trust anything the WHO says? The least Tedros can do is APOLOGISE and RESIGN!
