Considering this is Japantoday why are you not publishing health articles that deal with the local state of affairs?

We must remember that 99% of 'medication abortions' are elective abortions though

It would be surprising that this was not the case seeing how test to detect fetal abnormalities are usually performed from 10-12 weeks of pregnancy (and even later for the most common causes where the life of the mother is in risk, like preeclampsia and placental abruption), which means that medical reasons for an abortion are are almost always detected after medication abortion is no longer an option. This is like saying it is important to remember 99% of medical abortions happen on the first trimester of the pregnancy.

@painkiller: So now you advocate a convergence of state and federal law to suit your narrative? If there were such convergence by purely democratic means then the majority of the population would certainly vote for abortion rights to be upheld. That, is a fact.

Fortunately for many women who are unlucky enough to live in States where abortion clinics will be closed - this will be the silver lining. There will always be a Doctor prepared to circumvent state laws and help a patient if they have procured these pills. What is the USPS going to do? Start searching a every package? Also, they won't need to come from abroad, they will be freely available from States that haven't gone completely insane.

“Anti-abortion states are going to do everything they can to restrict medication abortion, but practically speaking people have been and will continue to access it through the mail from international pharmacies,” Donley said.

Hopefully there will be a convergence of state and federal law imposing harsher penalties on this type of act.

No one should be taking medications purchased from international pharmacies.

Wrong.

The tests are performed from 11-14 weeks.

(and even later for the most common causes where the life of the mother is in risk, like preeclampsia and placental abruption),

Wrong.

Ectopic pregnancies can be picked up after 5 weeks, and are the number one cause if first trimester death,

which means that medical reasons for an abortion are are almost always detected after medication abortion is no longer an option.

Wrong, as proven above by medical professionals, as we are not.

This is like saying it is important to remember 99% of medical abortions happen on the first trimester of the pregnancy.

False analogy. You misunderstood the other poster's entire comment.
