Parents excited over prospect of virus shots for children

These are very welcome news, as the article shows there are children that also need protection from COVID, and seeing that the vaccines are also safe and protective for them will give countless of parents a much needed rest from very real worries. Unfortunately there are also irrational people that will scream their lungs out about imaginary problems with the vaccines and how big a crime is to "expose" children to them. For these anti-scientific people, the children in the same situation as those included in the article (with very serious risk of dying from COVID) have no importance.

Weird how so many doctors are against giving it to children but all the drug companies are, for example:

Science is not a democracy where the number of people thinking one thing make it "demonstrated", for that is necessary evidence. There is no negative side effect of importance being identified that would make the vaccine risky, or at least not more than other vaccines used for children, and this applies also for the diseases they prevent (including some that are less risky for children than COVID). When people actively refuse to include these well known important facts in their appeals to prevent the vaccines from being used on children they are also greatly diminishing the value of their own opinions, almost as if they knew already that they can be proved wrong by doing it so they pretend these counter-arguments don't exist.

The argument in the article is NOT about getting better protection at a community level, it is about protecting children that are at a very high risk of serious disease and death from COVID, and that would greatly benefit personally from vaccines that have been proved safe and effective in literally millions of people. An emergency authorization after the trials indicate this situation repeats for children would let these families protect their specially vulnerable kids from a deadly disease.

It's one thing to protect specific kids who're at a high risk of developing serious symptoms or dying from COVID with a vaccine. For them, the risk is actually high and so the vaccine is warranted.

But the number of kids who have become sick from this virus has been minuscule, and the number who have sadly passed away has been even tinier. For whatever reason, except for a tiny minority of kids with serious comorbidities, this virus simply is not a threat and so mass vaccination of kids is not necessary.

And how do you pretend to protect them without the studies that prove the vaccine is safe for them to take? That is the problem with people that are used to think irrationally, never take the time to connect the dots and just oppose irrationally science, even to the point of contradicting themselves.

And that is also the same for other diseases for which they are already being vaccinated without problems, which you would have known if you actually read the comments or had any real interest in the situation.

Read the article, for people that never had the interest of the children in mind in the first place and only are looking for excuses to reject vaccines irrationally this may be a surprise, but many kids are not healthy and are at a terrible risk from COVID, you may be perfectly fine letting them be at a high risk for years but understandably their parents and the health care professionals that do think about them do not share your disdain for their lives and want to test the vaccines to be able to protect them as soon as possible.
