Strangerland
Someone who doesn't understand the concept of advances in medicine apparently.
RM
Ever heard of something called the internet? It's EVERYWHERE.
Strangerland
No, that's not ad hominem.
You do realize you could have googled the definition and figured that out yourself quicker than asking us, right?

That is false, if a disease is so much easier to contract that even very strong measures are insufficient to prevent contagions that means it is more deadly.

Wick's pencil
Overall, yes. But for kids, the flu is much more deadly.

Pro vax = Anti-choice..Anti-opinion..Anti-thought
Kids will gain natural immunity and create true herd immunity in the future.
Vaccinating children with provisionlly approved vaccines is dangerous and unneccesary as kids AREN'T dying from covid! For the most part they don't vene know they have covid.
virusrex
The "problem" is what is false, it is well recognized that people can die with COVID, what antiscientific propaganda tries to hide is that this is a very important thing to take into account. If a patient have diabetes he can still expect to live a few decades with the disease, but if he gets COVID it becomes much more likely he will die in the following days, even if the death is primarily due to diabetes COVID is obviously a very important contributing factor.
Any evidence of this? there is a very obvious explanation for the sudden and important decrease of influenza, that was predicted since before the social distancing measures were fully in place. Imagining that people are getting influenza in secret and giving false negative results in the tests (that are still being done to detect it) is only imaginary.
If the vaccines are so bad, how come the vaccinated people are doing much better than non-vaccinated ones?
You are confusing between something being effective and something being absolutely perfect. Antibiotics are very good against infections, but people still die from them. Helmets and seatbelts are in the same situation. If no country has yet reached the levels necessary to acquire herd immunity (for which irrational vaccine hesitancy have a role) why do you expect to see the consequences of reaching it.
More like Pro-vax = anti irrationality, anti lies and anti self-centered decisions.
wtfjapan
The ones dying of covid are the same ones who would be dying from influenza. Influenza vaccination is a choice so should covid be!
wrong flu is about 1/10 as fatal as covid, flu doesnt kill over 4 million a year

oh no the sky is falling.
The problem here is anyone with Covid has died FROM covid which is patently false.
over reporting Covid deaths and underreporting Flu deaths.
Provax = antichoice!
No long term side effect data on the provisional vaccines and people are happy to give them to their kids??? who by the way won't die from Covid! They will be the ones who build long term immunity from it though by catching it and recovering from it.
the sky is falling brigade is losing steam and people are waking up to their rhetoric of fear and coercion by promoting this Pro... Anti.. BS
Natural immunity is 10 times better than these vaccines which lose efficacy after 6 months.

So when the best available evidence, controlled and adjusted to reduce bias and noise, say something you don't like your solution is to go down to worse kinds of evidence? what if that don't support your views? will you ask people to go even lower and listen to hearsay and rumors? Your appeal makes no sense, we know personal accounts are more likely to be mistaken, specially if you ask people to search for only one side of those accounts and ignore the much more numerous contrary testimonies.
Also the statistics you mention are the ones that support the safety of vaccines, directly contradicting your point.
Antivaxxers find difficult to spend 3 seconds to read even a headline, but you expect them to listen to 8 hours of data and analysis that prove vaccines are safe and effective?
When people fail to produce any evidence of those risks from "injection" it becomes easy to ignore them, after all failing to produce that evidence is precisely the point. And nobody needs to exaggerate the risks of infection, they are there to be seen clearly even in the article. Can you prove 460 minors dying from the vaccine? else how can you prove the risks are higher for them from the vaccine?
Wick's pencil
Too many people love to minimize the risks of injection and exaggerate the risks of infection, especially in healthy kids.
virusrex
Any evidence about this? you know that some children do die from COVID infection, right? and that even asymptomatic minor can get evidence of cardiac problems if examined. One thing is to consider the benefits marginal, another completely different is to lie and say the dangers are higher.
Since the outcome means exposing anybody to the full risks of the infection this is obviously not true.
Too much people love to minimize the risks of infection and exaggerate the risks of vaccines, they also keep forgetting that not all children are "perfectly healthy" nor they are surrounded only by healthy people. Testing a vaccine and proving it is safe and effective is a huge thing that will help countless families protecting children that have increased risk of even dying from the disease or that could transmit it to other members that may not be able to be vaccinated or that get only incomplete protection.
These are great news for those families, even if the antivaxxers consider them not worth being considered.
Strangerland
And they’ve also created a vaccine against a virus as well as countless other drugs that have benefitted humanity.
Who woulda thunk that the real world would be nuanced and not black and white?
Peter Neil
Polio, smallpox, Tetanus, etc. Did people forget about those vaccines?
vic.M
Honestly, whoever talks like this when getting an injection ? " it was exciting " others that I have read, Can't wait to get my first shot - looking forward to my second - best thing I have ever done, Really ?
Aly Rustom
I'll happily give my kids the vaccine
Strangerland
Anyone want to bet on whether the person who downvoted that bases their opinion on data or rhetoric?
Strangerland
This is the anti-vaxxers current iteration of "it's no worse than the flu!" (a year later, millions are dead)
Sanjinosebleed
Healthy kids aren't dying from covid and natural immunity offers a much better outcome than the after 6 month worthless pfizer!
Strangerland
Really? For comparison's sake, what are the numbers behind that?
theFu
It is early still. After 500K other kids have it and the medical community has found it to be safe and effective beyond the 20K trials, then it would be much more likely to be accepted in the pro-vaccine groups.
commanteer
Insanity. In this age group, the kids face many times more risk from the "cure" than they do from the disease. And, as we know, the vaccine is far from being a cure. The greed of criminal pharmaceutical companies mixed with mass hysteria and fear among the public and coercive rulings from the government. Great profits to be made.
Monty
My son just become 7 years old.
Even I am a pro-vaxxer and he got all his necessary kids vaccinations, so far I do refuse to give him the Covid vaccine.
Maybe in a few months or years, I will change my mind, but currently NO!

This is going to be a hot topic.
