See Elizabeth Kubla Ross" "On Death and Dying " where she out lines the stages of grief following the death of a loved one.

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Grief, Acceptance.

Seems a good model with the knowledge that stages can intersect and move backwards as the process of grieving is gone through.

Grief is a "process "....takes time .
